Haddie’s Earings

6/30/2011

We decided to get Haddie’s ears pierced.  It is funny how many people mistake her for a boy even when she is in a pink stroller and a pink dress, now they will see her shiny new earrings and not mistake her for a him anymore, hopefully!!!  My mom and I took her to one of her childhood friends jewelry store to get them done, much more relaxed than if we took her to Claire’s in the mall…scary!!!  Haddie did cry for a little while, but soon was calmed down and sleeping.  Anita was so good and did such a good job!!!  Thank you again Anita!

First Camping Trip

So this weekend we took Haddie on her first of many camping trips to Lake Owhyee.  My parents and I left on Thursday afternoon in the “tater pig” (RV) so Haddie would be more comfortable riding up to the lake, and Brett came up on Friday morning to join us for the weekend.  It helped that Haddie had her new friend Hootie, the owl, with her for comfort.  The first night was surprisingly easy.  The temperature was just perfect for us to set up and get everything situated for the night.  Haddie actually ended up sleeping all night long!!!!  WOW! I was glad she made it easy for me.  As soon as she saw her daddy the next morning it was all smiles.   She got her first camping bath, in a bucket, that morning and loved it, not a peep out of her.  Saturday we weren’t as lucky with the weather, it was windy and started to rain pretty hard, but Haddie liked to hear the raindrops on the motor home, it helped put her to sleep.  We had an amazing dinner that night just before the weather turned on us.  My mom made hot rock filet with green beans, and strawberry spinach salad.  It was soooo good, wouldn’t have known the difference between Barbacoa’s hot rock and hers.  Thanks mom!!!  Sunday was fathers day and Haddie really loved being in her daddy’s arms that day.  We packed up and made our way home, not without stopping at our traditional burger joint for a milkshake and fries.

Bath time!!

Cooking the Hot Rock!!!

Cant go camping without the gourmet meals and champagne!!!
Happy Fathers Day dads!!!

BBQ TIME!!!!

Had a BBQ at my parents house with the grandparents, and great grandparents.  Earlier in the week Haddie had her first set of shots, which made her a fussy little girl, but Haddie was a much happier baby today laughing and smiling at everyone.  She enjoyed talking to Grandpa Wells in her stroller and we got the cutest video of her laughing, smiling and “talking” to him for the longest time.  Great Grandpa Hope came over so Haddie could say thank you for the amazingly generous gift he gave her to start her college fund…a nice letter and a check for, well lets just say it was way over the 100 dollars the adults get for their birthdays…:)  She just loves to look at him and see him smiling down on her.  Great Grandma Durant was over too, she was able to hold Haddie more than usual because everyone else was busy outside by the pool, I am sure she didn’t mind.  Haddie was able to fall asleep in her arms just as happy as can be.  It was a great day to be outside and for Haddie to start feeling better from her shots, couldn’t had timed it better myself.

DIY: T-shirt dress for Haddie

Ok so I havent been able to blog for a while due to the fact that I cannot put Haddie down or quit looking at her long enough to type or create anything, in fact I am typing with her in my lap with one hand.  Not so easy.  Well here is a little dress I made for her out of an old American Eagle t-shirt of mine and a onzie.  Love it and cannot wait to go through my closet for more shirts to use.  Out of the scraps I made her a diaper cover and a headband to match.  More to come.
